Damian and Delilah dot com was started to give non Facebook users a way to connect with the soon to be Damian and Delilah Gallina. We met February 24th 2018 at 2pm at the Starbucks at the Avenue at White Marsh.
Very early in our relationship, I was hospitalized for 30 days and diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder. You can learn more about it here. Substance abuse was not a factor, and Delilah wouldn’t have put up with that, nor would I have expected her to. I am certain if I was in a relationship with anyone else, I would not have had a need to create this website.
After the hospital, I went to an assisted living facility until I was willing to accept help and the reality of things to be. I did return to work on a part time basis by Christmas of that year.
I credit the light rail and the willingness to change my lifestyle with keeping the relationship alive, as I had lost my means of transportation due to financial reasons. At the time, Delilah did not drive, and while I had a valid license, I no longer owned a car.
When she got her license in February of 2019, the we were create memories for us. We were able to go out and take day trips.
I always made an effort to meet her as close to halfway as possible, and even rode a bicycle a few miles in December from the 67 bus to her house. If that didn’t prove how much I cared, nothing else would be able too. Not using the bike she loaned me money for to see her would be a disappointment.
Now, we are both in comfortable, long term jobs we enjoy, and with a sharp reduction in rent due to a transition to a room for rent, it became possible for Damian to save for a car. We projected that with current income and expenditures, a second car will be possible in late December of 2020, and a move in date to an as yet unknown rental is to follow shortly after.
If you have received an invitation, you have the opportunity to share in our marriage ceremony and reception on May 23rd, 2021. We hope you have fun!
